By its very nature, the original vision for the Amano Christian School is a continuing one. The Lord has graciously blessed the prayers and work of those who took the first step of purchasing the land, and in six years a great deal has been achieved. Still the aims remain and every day influence the practical decisions of operating and supporting the school:
* To provide a school where the teaching of every subject is influenced by the truths the Lord has revealed in his word and where the children are pointed to the Lord Jesus Christ as their true Hope and Saviour.
* To provide a school where the children of families on the mission field may have an education equal to that available anywhere in the world.
* To provide a school where Zambian parents can have their children educated to these high Christian standards.
* To provide a school where at least 10% of admissions are of orphans who are unable to provide for themselves.
The results speak for themselves. Children have come to faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and been baptised at Amano. The academic achievements have been excellent as a result of the Lord's blessing and the commitment of the teaching staff. Children with no hope in this world's terms are being educated and led in a Christian way.
Vision by necessity indicates looking forward and so the original aims remain but the prayers and hopes of those responsible look to the future:
* To increase the number of staff and students at Amano as the Lord graciously guides, from seventy-eight students at present to about three hundred.
* To increase where possible the number and responsibilities of Zambian staff, both as teachers and on the support staff.
* To increase the school's influence in the local community, to the glory of God through the preaching of the Gospel.

You can learn about our needs and get some idea of how you might help by reading the 'Needs' page; please do not turn away because you feel it is impossible for you to be a missionary yourself or because you are not able to give financially. Your prayers and encouragement are vital to the work at Amano.
